We’re thrilled to bring our signature Fried Chicken Sandwich, crafted with house-cured pickles, homemade slaw, and a fresh-baked challah roll from the renowned Wave Hill Breads, directly to you. Beyond events, our truck will be hitting the streets of Fairfield County in partnership with local non-profits to help feed the homeless. We gladly accept walk-ins at the bar on a first come first served basis. A 15-minute grace period is allotted to your arrival time should you run late. After 15 minutes your reservation will be released and offered to guests on our waitlist. All guests must be present to be seated. Tables are reserved for one & half hours. “Mixing records is very similar to balancing tastes if you can imagine that. The lows of a record are like beets to me. That funk, the color of it. It’s a deep sound. You add shallots, it’s like a string session. That was a major component into my transition to being a chef. I knew what balancing sound was. Same thing as ingredients.”

29 MARKLE CT IS BRINGING IT IN BRIDGEPORT! 

A bit of word of mouth goes a long way. I’d heard about 29 Markle Ct. by early this spring from disparate sources in the Connecticut food community and then again, twice, in the week since I’d made my first reservation this May. The first word came from a friend from West Hartford, the second from Westport — no small achievement considering the restaurant’s location in downtown Bridgeport. It seems the word is out.

A self-taught culinary artist hailing from Norwalk, Connecticut, Daye embodies a legacy of passion, innovation, and creativity. He is the visionary behind 29 Markle Ct's unique cuisine, which earned the prestigious title of Best New Restaurant by the Connecticut Restaurant Association in 2023. Located in Bridgeport, Connecticut, 29 Markle Ct has become a cornerstone of the community, celebrated for its distinctive flavors and dedication to quality. Through his culinary creations, Daye continues to inspire and uplift the vibrant community he proudly serves.

The visionary restaurant owner behind 29 Markle, where he initially crafted the unique vibe and stunning aesthetics that define the space. With a keen eye for design and a passion for creating memorable atmospheres, Wes transformed our space into a visual and sensory delight. His role has since evolved, and he now personally hosts guests, ensuring an exceptional front-of-house experience. His dedication to hospitality and his warm, welcoming presence make every visit to 29 Markle truly unforgettable.

Wesley Saintil Arbuthnott

Co Owner

Experienced in business management and Chief Financial Officer with a passion for the hospitality industry. Ishalee excels in team leadership, financial management, and customer service. She is dedicated to ensuring smooth operations and delivering exceptional dining experiences. Her expertise in financial planning and her commitment to excellence make her an invaluable asset to the restaurant. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new cuisines and volunteering in her community.

Ishalee Green

Deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan as a member of the 4th Engineer Battalion, Roshara served as an automated logistical specialist responsible for supervising warehouse functions to maintain equipment records and parts. When Roshara returned stateside she joined the 395th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion and could cross train as a food supply specialist. “I was passionate about cooking,” If it weren’t for the GI Bill I wouldn’t have gone to the Culinary Institute of America or any college for that matter. It was a blessing and it made my dream a reality.” Roshara’s hard work has not gone unnoticed. She holds Campaign Medals from Iraq and Afghanistan, a Navy/Marine Achievement Medal, and she was the December 2014 Chef of the Month for Chef Works, an international foodservice uniform company. Roshara was sponsored by Remy Martin Cognac Company and inducted into the Circle of Centaurs mentorship program.  On November 11, 2015, Roshara was featured on a special Veteran’s Day episode of Food Network’s hit show “Chopped” that included military vets competing from every branch Army, Marines, Air Force, and Navy. Roshara won the competition beating chefs twice her age and experience! In 2016, NBC Black named Chef Roshara Sanders to their annual “28 Under 28” list alongside other inspiring African Americans like Cam Newton.  Roshara currently serves as a celebrity ambassador for Habitat for Humanity International and most recently traveled to Malawi on behalf of the organization. As part of her ambassadorship with Habitat, Roshara represented Habitat partner Whirlpool Corp. at the 2019 Affiliate Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Chef Roshara Sanders presented a feature dinner at the prestigious James Beard House in New York City in November of 2018 in honor of Veterans Day. In 2018, she also received a coveted Forbes Fellow designation at the 2018 Forbes 30 Under 30 Summit in Boston. Roshara made the 2024 Food & Wine Game changers list and is currently a partner in operations at 29 Markle Ct,Bridgeport CT. Awarded "Best New Restaurant" at the CRA "Crazie Awards" 2023

Her expertise and unique style have also been prominently featured in the CT Beverage Journal, showcasing her as a trailblazer in the mixology scene. Rebecca’s inventive concoctions and dedication to her craft have garnered praise from both her peers and the many guests who have experienced her exceptional creations. At 29 Markle, Rebecca continues to push the boundaries of traditional bartending, crafting unforgettable drinks that reflect her passion and ingenuity. Her commitment to excellence and her ability to create memorable experiences make her a standout talent in the mixology world.
